Claudia Alonzo, M.A., Colorado Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #811 owns and
operates Cripple Creek Counseling Center. With more than 25 years experience in helping
people of all ages lead happier and more productive lives, Claudia Alonzo offers honest and direct counseling with integrity
and excellent listening skills. She uses a Family Systems and Cognitive-Behavioral approach to assist people in improving
the quality of their lives. Claudia assists each client in recognition and exploration of their strengths, as well as focuses
on the areas needing improvement and growth.
Cripple Creek Counseling Center
offers a variety of counseling services to children, youth and adults. A sliding scale is provided @ $35.00-$100.00
per 50-60 minute session. When needed, longer sessions may be arranged to meet the needs of clients.
Individual
Therapy, Couples Counseling, Family Therapy and Group work can be scheduled by contacting Cripple Creek Counseling Center.
Sand Tray Work:
In addition to traditional 'Talk Therapy' Claudia Alonzo offers
clients the opportunity to make use of Sand Tray Work as a therapy technique. Sand Tray makes use of a vast
collection of figures, animals, buildings, natural objects, etc. and the client uses their chosen figures to build a scene
in a sand tray. Under the therapist's guidance, the client then explores his/her personal meaning of the scene.
Using this tool, the healing comes from 'within the client' and a very deep level of work is possible. Sand
Tray is a useful mode of therapy for children and adults. It also can be used with groups of people. Please
feel free to ask about this form of therapy.
Child and Family Investigation services:
Claudia Alonzo has completed specialized training to work as a Colorado Certified Child and Family Investigator.
As a Child and Family Investigator, she conducts interviews with all of the key parties in a custody case
and makes detailed and objective reports to the courts concerning 'the best interests of children'. In
effect, Claudia Alonzo becomes the child's advocate in the development of the parenting plan and the recommendations to
the court. Determining the 'best interests of the children' remains the sole purpose for the investigation
and the report to the court.
The CFI work is NOT therapy, but is conducted by a licensed therapist
with additional training in family law, investigation, childhood development and working with family systems.
Children's needs are most often met when they have the love and support of BOTH of their parents. Claudia Alonzo
has a fine record of advocating for co-parenting arrangements when that is in the best interest of the child(ren).
In 1988, Claudia Alonzo was a member of the founding Board of Directors for the Divorced Father's Network,
an organization of mothers and fathers dedicated to healthy co-parenting.
The DFN can be reached
at: www.divorcedfathers.com/
They are an excellent resource for mothers and fathers who are struggling with making a co-parenting
plan work.
Claudia Alonzo's CFI services can be made available by court order or private contract. CFI fees
will be discussed in detail before we begin the work. A CFI's fees are paid equally by both parents of the minor
children.
Clinically Certified Juvenile Treatment Specialist:
The American
College of Certified Forensic Counselors has awarded Claudia B. Alonzo, M.A., LMFT with the designation of nationally
recognised Clinically Certified Juvenile Treatment Specialist having met all the educational requirements,
clinical training and experience required for certification.
