On this page, I will address issues of a general concern. My replies DO NOT constitute 'therapy', nor are they meant to replace face-to-face counseling sessions. By offering my thoughts on a given subject; my intent is to offer potential clients the opportunity to see how I respond to an issue and to judge for themselves whether or not we might work well together.

Give it a try!

You might just discover that it is helpful

new to counseling
I have never talked with a counselor or therapist. What should I expect if I make an appointment?

R. G.

Hello R.G.,

You can expect to visit my office and feel 'safe'. It's important to me that I establish a setting where people can discuss what-ever is troubling them. I am a good listener. You can ask me questions about my background, education, experience, etc. to determine if we might work together. My goal is to assist you in working through your problems and to help you find solutions that will make your life feel more manageable.

It sounds like you are having a problem very familiar to most parents. I've written some recommendations on my NEWSLETTER page. See if that helps and let me know how things are going.
